We have no running water half of the time. We have 55 people sharing 3 bathrooms. I have dozens of bug bites too big to be from the tiny ants I’ve seen, but I haven’t seen any other bugs so who knows what’s biting at me? I’m not a fan of curry. We have to eat with our right hand – no utensils. I have to work out in sweat pants in an already hot climate. 20 women are sleeping in 1 room. We have no wifi. Our ministry has been changed but we don’t know where we are going, what we will be doing, or where we will be sleeping.

But I wouldn’t trade this season of my life for anything. My adventurous spirit is at peace. I am growing spiritually on the daily. The Holy Spirit is present and active. The squad is in unity – only by an act of God do we have 55 people living together so well. And ministry is finally just around the corner – we’ve been in classes and training for what feels like a year but realistically like 15 days.

Coffee makes everything better.

We are going. We are eager and we have the strength of the Lord. We may not know exactly where we are staying, who we will be working with, or any details past we are about to break the law in India (it is illegal to preach on a tourist visa, and there is a great amount of persecution towards Christians here). But, we know that the Lord has called each and every one of us here, and my team is excited to see what our ministry turns out to be this month.
