Today was so good.

I went on a very short hike, but spent some very good time with squad mates.  We talked about challenges, laughed about good things that have happened, and gushed about the things to come.  We talked about fears that come with fundraising, and the stresses that it causes.  We talked about countries we were excited to visit, things we were trying to understand about the world race, we went to REI, and saw a beautiful waterfall.  Oneonta gorge is a great hike, and if you are ever in the Portland area and are okay with getting your feet wet, check it out.

One thing that I am nervous for with the world race is the documenting of it.  I don’t want to live the year through a camera lens, but I want to be able to relive the moments of the year.  I want my friends and family back home to be able to see and experience my year with me, but I want to be separate from technology at the same time.

I’m scared my videos won’t be very good.  I mean, I’ve spent four years studying media and how to tell stories, but that all takes so much work to do it right, that I don’t think I’ll have time on the race to do them well.

This video is an attempt at making a quick video to document an experience without loosing the experience in it of itself.
