This is the youngest human I have ever held.  I don’t know what to do with babies, but that natural instinct kicked in and he’s still alive.  This was also my first baby photoshoot and I thoroughly enjoyed it!

This only looks prison-like because of the added barbed wire and the black and white edit.  This building was originally a school, but during the Khmer Rouge takeover it was turned into a prison where thousands of people were tortured.  I didn’t know anything about the genocide in Cambodia that happened just 40 years ago, and that still had trials going until 2012, but it ruined this country.  I recommend you read “First They Killed My Father”, I read it while in Cambodia, but it’s the story of a survivor who was 5 when the Khmer Rouge first took over the country.

Did you know this is one of the 7 wonders of the world? Also a movie I’ve never seen was filmed here.  I’m a little salty that they had to put ropes up and ruin all tourist’s photos.

I actually used a portrait filter on this photo, just to see how it would turn out.

I didn’t take any photos during ministry this month, so I only have photos of adventure day activities, and memories of painting pallets and boat houses.

At every major tourist site I end up taking a picture of the location through the camera of a strangers phone.  This particular one I couldn’t get a good angle and I said something to my friend next to me, and this stranger said “here, how’s this one” and held up her phone so I could get a good picture.  But in all honesty, I usually end up not liking tourist sites because there are way to many people.  Also, the majority of people saw the sunrise at Angkor Wat by holding their phones above the heads of the crowd.
