Here’s my letter to Zim! One of my favorite months on the race so far!

Dear Zimbabwe,

You were arguably my favorite country on the Race so far! Thank you for your joy, your laughs, and your love. Thank you for meaning so much that I cried saying goodbye. Thank you for welcoming us in, and for showing us such beautiful places and people. You hold Victoria Falls, which is a truly astonishing sight, and I am thankful we got to start our month there (and have the best 30 hour team time in Race history to get there and back).
The ministry we joined with was one that is not only surviving but thriving, and allowing children of Zim to find God’s grace and love. We as a team were honored to partner with them, and incredibly thankful to have had the chance to love on each and every kid there! We saw stories of healing, redemption, and His faithfulness in the kid’s stories. We saw His sovereignty in placing the seven of us on one team and sending us to SJC in Zim. It’s crazy that our original route didn’t include Zimbabwe, but PRAISE for route changes and for the opportunity to visit Zimbabwe.
I pray that the strength you embody and the joy you carry will propel you forward as time goes on. I pray that you will trust in the Lord to lift you up as a country who will do great things and a country who will be blessed for your faithfulness. I pray that you will bond with your neighbors and you will gain back the strength and unity you once had. Your children will grow up to be men and women of honor and I know that you will do great things.
