Dear Nepal,

Thank you for being a country of adventure.  Thank you for bring mountains back into my life.  Thank you for your beauty, and for your lessons.  Thank you for giving the Lord the space to move.  You are the fastest growing church in the world, and that is evident in the way the people love each other, and the ways you loved us.

The ministry you gave us was wild, and inexplainable.  It changed our understanding of ministry entirely.  Ministry doesn’t have to be anything traditional.  It doesn’t have to be alter calls, laying hands, and literally feeding kids.  Ministry can be watercolor painting.  Ministry can be five years of prayer walks.  Ministry can even look like trying to pray for a valley while a new dog friend chases monkeys down a mountain!  With all the different ways we did ministry this month, Nepal, you broke the box – even if it was a big box – that we put God in.  So thank you for stretching our understanding of ministry, because sometimes we just don’t get it.

Thank you for bring out our ENTIRE squad together.  Thank you for allowing me to live live with 50+ people, for the second time in my life.  Thank you for allowing the space for relationships to grow, for coffee dates with new friends that feel like old friends, for hikes up a mountain with people I haven’t had the chance to get to know.  Thank you for the floating  lanterns, even though only 4 of the 20 actually look off, it lead to joy and laughter.  You provided a space for all of us to grow in unity, and to learn more of what it means to actually be the church.

Nepal, you are a vibrant, loving, growing country and it was a delight to spend time with you.  Your food was a mix of Indian/Chinese/something… all very interesting, MoMos were my favorite, it was kind of like a pot sticker.  I enjoyed seeing the prayer flags, although I still don’t quite understand them.  You are rich in culture, and share a vibrant love I can’t find all over the world.

Thank you, Nepal
