*This past month we had 2 exposure participants come and join us! We had a point person for each of them, which made it kind of a mentor/menti relationship – given my sorority background we called them LITTLES. This is a letter to them.
Dear Littles,
Thank you for joining our team. For not just coming out and doing ministry with us, but actually joining our team. You dove right into World Race culture, you opened up to us right away, and most importantly you came in with open arms for what the Lord had for you.
Thank you for bringing us month 7 racers some month 1 excitement. Early on we had a conference called The Awakening which was held at the end of month 4 (for our squad) in Cambodia. We met up with squads ending month 7, and month 9 – so we were the “young racers with all the energy”. We swore up and down that we wouldn’t let the exhaustion get to us. Having you gals come join us reminded us of that moment, of that promise to persevere and rely on the strength from the Lord. Thank you for reminding us of the greatness in this trip. Sometimes it’s easy to think lets just take a weekend trip to Greece, or anything along those lines that makes the greatness we encounter this year mundane. We needed the fresh perspective that you offered us, and the energy that you brought us – the candy from the States helped too.
Thank you for being selfless. For serving the community we were in, as well as for serving us. For seeking out what the Lord had for you, instead of what you wanted. We saw tremendous growth in both of you, and I pray that you take each lesson you learned on the field back to the states with you. I pray that you share your stories, and that you allow your selves time to process the crazy month you just had before letting your busy schedules get in the way. I hope your families notice the growth that came out of the year, and I hope your friends listen to each and every story.
I’m sorry the packing list was confusing, but thanks for leaving cute clothes for us to carry! I’m sorry if this month wasn’t what you expected it to be, but thanks for taking each day with grace and joy. I’m sorry you couldn’t come to Bulgaria with us, it’s been great – but we sure do miss you! We actually sat down at the table the first night and frantically counted asking why are we two short? oh yeah…
Thanks for being encouraging, loving, and for being both an example for us to follow, and for learning from us and allowing us to pour into you! I pray you continue to grow closer with the Lord, and I pray that you keep your arms and heart open for all that He has for you.
