Hi there, its been a while. No worries I am alive and doing well. I am now in Gainesville Ga living with the most amazing women ever and participating in the CGA program.
I am part of the worship track which means I meet every weekday morning for labs with a bunch of weirdos who love Jesus and are filled with the Holy Spirit. We have a large variety of musicians and singers and a small handful of us who, like me do not have musical talents.
What ties us all together is our passion to worship our Father and to dive head into what that really looks like. We are reading an absolutely ridiculously thick but amazing book called Unceasing Worship: Biblical Perspectives on Worship and the Arts by Harold M. Best. This has really help me form solid clear thoughts about my life being an act of worship and who/what I am worshiping.
This last week I was able to go to the training camp of yzabc squads and participate in worship and to serve them behind the scenes mostly in the kitchen.
This week was so many different things and I do not think I could ever write down in words even a smidgen of what I experienced and learned.
I praised God like never before, I danced, painted, drummed, and sang songs with a new view of Him. I listened to the Holy Spirit so closely and so often that it feels weird now to not be focused completely on those future racers and how I can intercede for them.
I was humbled greatly at this training camp as well, experiencing first hand that I am new at many things and thus I will make wrong choices and fall flat on my face. Lucky for me love abounds at AIM and firm but loving corrections is always present.
Training camp provided the chance to practice what I was being taught and a safe place to grow via trial and error. I am now walking out of the week humbled and eager to learn more and try again.
With many months left in my CGA journey I can hardly wait for what will happen next, but more than happy to live out each and every beautiful day surrounded by amazing people!
Until next time!
Mikala
P.S. I am still in need of funding for my year at CGA, if you feel led please donate!
