I want to let you all in on something, I think a LOT. If you couple that with living a busy, and constantly transitioning life it equals no blogs, no updates and no idea where to start.
Hence I do not know where to begin with this blog, or how much to include.
For my sake I will go with short and sweet(ish).
January 2016 will begin with me flying home from California, continuing my job at Brightstone Transitions and me finally moving into Bethania!
Oh you need a little more information than that?
Continue on if you don’t know what has been happening in the last year and if you do know enjoy the rest of your coffee while reading other amazing blogs that will not be anywhere as awesome as mine.
2015 begun with moving into a new house as well, which really looked the same as this move. Pack all my things into boxes, cram it into my truck and make several trips to my friends’ house. Then store said things at said friends house and get up early the next day to fly to California for Christmas with the family.
One very big difference this year is that I am not going to have to move all my things to another house once I have returned to Georgia! This is because I am moving into the house with my friends! (We will not discuses that only 1 of my 4 friends is staying in said house, and don’t even get me started on Spock leaving too.)
So in January I moved into a pretty rocking basement with a dear family I know from Church. 12 minutes from the Adventures office and tucked away in the woods meant it was very good for my soul.
I still had a job cleaning the office and volunteered facilitating Worship Track. Basically this meant I started every day at 5am when the stars where the brightest and watched the sun rise as I cleaned. I then spent the rest of my morning worshiping with some crazy awesome people, teaching them about creative expression, self-discovery by discovering who God is and offering them freedom that had been offered to me.
My dear friend Sheila (who invited me to be a part of WT and led me well through all of the semesters) and I lead some of these crazies into an even crazier journey over the summer doing a never before attempted summer semester of Worship Track.
Still tracking? Ok good, you are almost all the way informed.
Plot twist 1. I quit my cleaning job and got a job at Brightstone Transitions as a mentor for young adult women on the autism spectrum. It has been an amazing and challenging last 6 months working there and if you want to know more just ask
Plot twist 2. This fall semester was my last one with Worship Track. With my new job I cannot be there as much as I would like. I loved teaching WT this last year and a half and would not replace it for the world. Thank you to all involved.
Plot twist 3. You might have guessed it I am no longer squad leading in January. This was a decision I made personally after prayer and consultation. (Again, feel free to ask any questions you have about this!)
2015 has been a year filled with storms, rainbows, big puddles good for jumping in in boots and bad for long walks in tennis shoes. One vital lesson I learned towards the beginning of the years was that God is good. No questions, no doubts, He is good. That abstract idea become solid as the year progressed and over the last 6 months it has been my driving force, my rock, my safety, and the wind that gives me life.
Thank you to each and every person that I was blessed to interact with this year. There were so many of you, some of whom I knew well before this year, others I met only briefly, and still more whom I am growing closer with each day.
I welcome 2016 with hope, joy and the continued understanding that I have a good Father.
