I will be posting a blog each day for the next 9 days, expounding on details about each country that my team and I will be visiting to spread love to. I am hoping to partner with 1 person each day for the next 11 days to support me at $100. Would you be willing to support me as I head to Lesotho?

11 months in 11 days: Lesotho

Location: Landlocked within South Africa

Capital: Maseru

Population: 2.2M

World Race Month: Month 4, January 2019

Fun Facts: ~Not many countries can say that their traditional dress is a blanket. The Basotho blanket is a very common sight in the kingdom of Lesotho, often with colorful patterns.

~You would not immediately associate Africa with snow, but Lesotho is home to the highest ski resort in Africa. Afriski is situated at 3050 metres above sea level.

~When you visit Lesotho and come across any craft market, the first thing you will notice is a conical shaped hat, the Basotho Hat (or mokorotlo).

~The people of Lesotho are incredible hospitable to visitors of their country. While you are driving in a car, it is common to see locals waving at you and welcoming you to their home.

I have no clue who is in this picture because I found it on the interwebs, but seriously, I envy that person and their beautiful view of this country.

Lesotho is a country known for its hospitality, yet a dark side to this country is the crazy high rates of HIV/AIDS. Lesotho has a prevalence rate of 25% of adults that are infected with HIV/AIDS, which is the second highest in the world! My team and I will spend a large portion of our time in this country working with those infected with this terminal disease. This country also deals with high rates of poverty with up to 40% of the population living under the poverty line. It is not uncommon for a child to go to work as opposed to school because the family finds it to be far more important to have money than education. We will also be working to help teach those in poverty skills and help to grow them to find more sustainable ways to make an income without sacrificing education.

Thank you for reading! As I stated at the beginning of blog, I am looking for 1 person today to sponsor me at $100 and to support the lost in the Lesotho. I am currently at just under $6000 raised and need to be at $10000 by the end of September. I would feel so blessed to receive your support during this season, so if you would be open to donating to support me, scroll to the top of the page and click donate. You can also donate via Venmo(@MiiggySmalls) or on PayPal([email protected]).

Please keep me in prayer as I continue to work towards support raising and while I am headed to Lesotho to spread the love of Christ.
