Fun Facts: ~Ecuador is the largest exporter of bananas in the world.
~Quito is the highest capital city in the world, at 2850m above sea level!
~”Cuy” is the name of full roasted guinea pigs, which are a common delicacy in Ecuador.
~A huge tourist attraction in Ecuador is the spot in Quito where the equator lies. Although, modern measurements show that the true equator actually lies about 240 meters north of where that attraction lies.
~Due to the altitude of Quito, water boils at 190F degrees.
A large portion of the people in Ecuador live in poverty. Even though this place is beautiful, there is a lot of pain and struggles throughout Ecuador. Although a lot of these people live in poverty, there is also a large portion of the population that live in a world of drug addiction and substance abuse. We plan to go into this country with open hearts and open arms, willing to help people in any way that we can, spreading love and joy while on the way. I am super excited to go and help in as many ways as I possibly can.
