HI! Welcome to my very first blog for the world race. Wow, so many emotions. I have only typed this thing out I don’t know a hundred times.

Where to start? Well first if you don’t know me I am Michelle. I have filled out some information in the about me section if you would like to know more about me. My prayer is that over the next year and a half if you choose to come along for the ride that you would get to know my heart, and in doing so will see the heart of my heavenly father.

So WHAT am I doing? Well, I have decided to go on the World Race! You can visit their website (worldrace.org) for more information, or you can stick around and learn more about it as I do because I am sure as time passes I will learn more than what I actually know right now. Right now I know the basics I will be going to 11 countries in 11 months and I leave in January. I will be following the holy spirit with a group of people in order to be the hands and feet of Jesus. I don’t know exactly what all we will be doing but I do know that we will be seeking the Holy Spirit and following his guidance.  and oh yeah I have to fundraise about 20 thousand dollars.

NOW WAIT. PLEASE DONT GO.

I know that is a big number. And you are probably thinking How is she going to do that? Is she crazy? So she is leaving her country, her family, her friends, her job, AND FUNDRAISING TO DO SO…… trust me I have had these thoughts myself and there is a slight bit of fear there. BUT the bible says to go out into the world and preach the good news to everyone. It also says to die to ourselves, pick up our crosses and follow Jesus daily. Now I know each of us have a purpose, each of us are called to do different things. So please do not think I am saying that every single person must go to the whole world. God may not put a desire on your heart to go out to all the countries, he might put a desire in your heart to go to all the states here in America. It’s a big world y’all and I think the main thing is to just share to good news wherever you are. But for me, I have a deep desire to go, I have had this desire since I can remember. I know my calling is to go.

So here is the deal with that big number on the top. It makes me uncomfortable. I was raised in a way that if you don’t have the money you don’t buy/do the things. I am so thankful for those teachings (even though I have and still do at times fail them, sorry mom and dad love yall) So it’s very uncomfortable for me to even have to put all of this stuff out there.

But this is what I want you to know.
This is not about me, it is about expanding the good news to the world. It is about encouraging my brothers and sisters that are out there in the field already working hard. It is about people coming to know the love of our heavenly father. So when you donate, you are donating to the kingdom. You are helping someone in another country have the chance to hear about Jesus, it may be someone who has never even heard his name before. You are helping a group of people (my squad and myself included) gain a better understanding of walking in faith, relying on and trusting our father, to learn what biblical community is and what it should look like. You are helping to encourage people out on the field, you are impacting the world. This is not my journey. This is my father’s journey, and we are in it together.

More on fundraising and how you can help later. But If you feel lead to help now there are a couple of different ways. The first is to hit the donate button on top of my blog. That money goes to adventures in missions and is a tax write off. The other way is to donate to me directly I have venmo, PayPal, cash, checks. (Donating to me directly is not a tax write off. That money would go towards gear, and aew living expenses not included in the fundraising amount) I will be needing to invest in quite a few items and soon I will make a list of the things I’ll be needing to get over the next 7 months and put that out here.

Thank you so much for sticking with me on this long post. If you’d like to follow me throughout our journey please subscribe to my blog!
