As of yesterday, I have officially been in Cambodia for a month! It feels like it’s been an eternity, but at the same time month one flew by, leaving only seven left to go. Over month one my team and I worked together in the mornings at a school painting murals in classrooms and outdoor courtyards. In the afternoons, we split up to 3 different ministries. Myself, Abby and Caroline went to another school to paint more murals, Kate and Iris taught English with our host’s and Marissa worked with waitresses at a coffee shop and did crafts in a hospital. It’s been so amazing to see the kid’s reactions to the stuff God has worked though us to produce. The joy it brings to their faces is heartwarming. I have loved the painting aspect of our ministry, but talking and playing with the kids is SO much fun. We didn’t get to do that much over the month so I was hopeful that God would provide a way for us to do that more in month two.

When we came back from our month one debrief in Siem Reap we were told that there would be some changes in ministry for month two. In order for our to have more time to grow and be together, they decided to put all teams together for both morning and afternoon ministries. Our team is continuing to paint our murals in the mornings, and in the afternoons we are now all teaching English with our host’s. God is so GOOD! Not only will our team have more time together and still get to create colourful murals for the kids, but we will get to spend the afternoons playing and teaching them! I can’t wait to see what God has in store for my team, these kids and me other this next month.
