I want to quickly share something amazing that has happened in my life recently.
But first, some background information:
In the first semester to my third year of high school I had the chance to participate in a program at my school called Pursuits. Pursuits is an outdoor leadership program which gives students a chance to learn about and experience backcountry living, nutrition and leadership skills. It was one of my favourite semesters of high school by far.
On top of fundraising, I’ve been to accomplish the seemingly impossible task of trying to find quality gear for the race, at an affordable price.
I was approached by one of the teachers who leads the program who had recently found out that I was going on the World Race. He expressed how excited he was for me and how this experience would make a huge impact on my life (which couldn’t be more true!).
Then out of the blue he asked me about gear, wondering what I was going to need for the race. He told me that the program wanted to donate gear towards my trip, to help me out. He offered me a sleeping bag, a tent and a backpack, all in next to perfect condition.
I was so overwhelmed with emotions after this offer. All I could think was “GOD is good.” I am so grateful for all He has provided for me, and how much more I know is to come.
Hopefully I’ll have more exciting news like this soon!
