Writing a blog a day is a lot.  I have missed a few days already.  But God is teaching me how to have grace on myself and allow Him to work.  I am standing firm on what I believe he called me to do. But I am realizing that what I do is not nearly as important as being with God.

So while part of me wants to write about how I am homesick, tired and struggling with doubt…I think God wants me to thank Him. When I thank Him my perspective shifts from a me focus to a Jesus focus.

  1. Thank you, Jesus, for sunsets on the beach.
  2. Thank you, Jesus, for team SONshine and their words of affirmation.
  3. Thank you, Jesus, for hugs.
  4. Thank you, Jesus, that I am here in Albania.
  5. Thank you, Jesus, for bringing another Kansan to this country. 🙂
  6. Thank you, Jesus, for castles and mountains.
  7. Thank you, Jesus, that you give me everything I need to live a godly life.
  8. Thank you, Jesus, because I know you can move mountains with the faith of a mustard seed.
  9. Thank you, Jesus, for the constant prayer and support from back home.
  10. Thank you, Jesus, that you know everything about me and You want to be my friend.

The Bible is filled with passages on thankfulness. Thankfulness is so important in our daily Christian walk because it helps us to remember and shift our focus.  In Isaiah 49 it says “Look up and look around”.  The LORD will never forget His people, but I think we often forget who He is and what He has done.

Look up and look around! God is so good. He will never forget you or stop caring for you. Thank Him and find His joy.

Thank you, Jesus. I love you!
