Things I need to remember to be thankful for:
1. How food is readily accessible
2. A hot shower – it is such a luxury.
3. Traffic lights, lines and paved roads
4. Seatbelts
5. Clean sidewalks and cut green grass
6. A fully stocked and working Refrigerator and FREEZER
7. Clean water wherever I go
8. Napkins, salt and pepper at every table
9. Cell data and service
10. Not needing a translator to communicate (though I do wanna learn another language)
11. Washer and DRYER!
12. Clean bathrooms with regular toilets and toilet paper
13. Brewed coffee rather than instant
14. Ranch dressing (never thought I would miss this)
15. AC everywhere
16. Underground plumbing and sewage lines
17. Closets and dressers
18. Street lights
19. Hand soap
I am sure I will notice so much more when I arrive home. But last but not least, I want to remember to be so very thankful for my family. Even when Delbert thinks he is so funny 😉 – I want to appreciate them all the more when I get home. I can’t believe how blessed I am. God has placed me in the USA for a specific purpose and plan. Sometimes it is easy to feel guilty for the opportunities and privileges that I have as an American. But I think instead of guilt, we should be grateful for them and steward them well. I know how blessed we are in America and I don’t want to forget what I saw in other countries. Rather, I want to keep choosing the uncomfortable for God’s kingdom. I want to keep thanking God and asking Him how I can make a small difference. I am blessed so I want to keep blessing others. Not sure what that looks like yet, but I know God has great plans.
I just want to encourage you to look around you and remember how blessed you are! Even more, be available and watchful on how you can bless others!
Can’t wait to see you soon!
