Hey all!

My new team 5•7•9 made it to Successful Christian Ministry, Rwanda.  It’s a lot of new things all in a few days.

But first, Rwanda is beautiful! Every place we walk there is an amazing view of the city.  Every person we have met is so kind, joyful and soft spoken (Until they start preaching…and then you better respond with hallelujah and amen!)

The family we are living with is incredible.  We arrived to their house and they insisted that we call them, Dad and Mama Africa.  So of course also we have 3 younger brothers.  Every day they call us sister.  They love The Greatest Showman and playing the card game speed.  The youngest is as dramatic as they come!  And then he will give you the most pathetic puppy dog eyes when he wants something.  The oldest is so soft spoken and helpful while the middle one calls himself the manager of the house.  I also love when he gives himself a pep talk.

Already, these boys are so dear to me.  Dad Africa is the founder for Successful Christian Ministry.  The ministry has four churches around Kigali, Rwanda.  Dad Africa is the pastor for the one right next door. Mama Africa is pastor for a church an hour where we live.  (Walking and bus).  Mama Africa’s church also has a preschool connected to it.  So needless to say these people are incredibly busy but also amazing and kingdom focused.

So far, we have played with preschoolers, preached, danced and walked door to door for evangelism.  Dad Africa has a prayer and financial request.

First, the Rwandan government is closing down churches that do not meet specific regulations.  Dad Africa explained that they want churches to be the higher example for Rwanda in quality and cleanliness.  So first pray for churches in Rwanda.  Pray for them to meet the authorities requirements to stay open and reach more people.  Pray that the church would rise up and be THE church.

Please pray specifically for Successful Ministries because the church needs to build a $1300 fence to stay open.  If you feel called to help in this project please contact me.  I don’t normally ask this but a great need is smaller with the whole body of Christ.

Thank you again for supporting me and loving me.  I have about 51 days till have come home and I can’t wait to see you all!
