Hello all!I am realizing that this year is going to be a year of goodbyes.  I don’t know if that means I will get better at them or if it will just keep getting harder! But I do know that I am so grateful that Jesus meets us where we are and keeps holding us no matter where we go!

It has officially been a month since I left the United States. And within this month, I had started to feel comfortable in my team’s hotel in San Ignacio, experienced an even slower pace in Caye Caulker and now I’m learning how to live in a house with 38 other people.

So here’s a quick review of the last month.

For the first week, we walked the streets of San Ignacio. We were able to meet lots of people and pray for them. As we were walking back to the hotel, we discovered a hotel under construction and had a photo shoot. It was amazing to see the storm coming in and having awesome teammates who tell you to stop because the lighting is perfect for me.

Another day, Rocky and I spent a day with a family who owns a bakery. It was a day that God taught me that ministry could look like valuing and loving people in their normal life.   It was one of my favorite days.

Samuel and I did a prayer walk around San Ignacio and found this incredible mural. One thing I love about Central America is all the colors! The houses are bright with color combinations that you wouldn’t think to do on a house. Murals are common inside and out. I love it!

A couple of adventure/ rest days we were able to explore some Mayan ruins. This is a picture of Xunantunich and the view at the top was AMAZING. I am so grateful that God is a detail oriented Creator.

This is one of my favorite pictures because Alberto came and hung out with us almost everyday. He was so helpful, sweet and brought joy to our team.

I had to include this picture because our hotel manager, Sony, was so kind and made Chai tea for us most days at 5pm. It was delicious! I miss his cheerful smile and servant heart. Best time of day was TEA TIME.

This family was incredible. The last night in San Ignacio they invited my team to a dinner. They loved, blessed and fed us so well. It was a meal that I will not forget! The burger bun was the size of my head and oh so delicious. But the thing I loved most was getting to know them and being bonded together by our love for Jesus. Thank you, Angie and Maggie for treating us like family!

This picture is just to give you a glimpse of our daily routine in Belize. One of those included cooking for our team. But also, my team Grit learned so much about each other. We learned things of what not to do and things we want to do better in the future. This whole journey is a process – growing in Christ individually and growing as the church.

We went to Caye Caulker for debrief.  This time was a time of reflection and counseling.  Lol  Our coaches just poured into us and spoke truth into us.  It was an awesome time to relax, get some sun and kayak on the ocean! God is soo good!

One last thing, I don’t have good pictures of this place.  But I loved the church that we went to in San Ignacio.  The church welcomed us with open arms and loved us.  We got to spend a night for a youth lock-in.  It was amazing!

 I can’t Belize it – a month is gone!

Love you all!
