“Michel! Jamison is a peach. She lives in Ottawa, Kansas with her parents Delbert and Linda Jamison. She grew up with two sisters and recently acquired a brother-in-law. Her family is great support and has grown up as a close-knit group. That is why this opportunity for Michel to travel and be a missionary is the best and worst thing to happen to her.

Michel has loved Jesus ever since she was a little girl and her family has helped inspire that relationship. She grew up going to church, bible studies, and youth group. Now, at 26, she leads Sunday school, youth group, and Awana for the youth in her town. She loves showing others the love of Jesus in all that she does.

She graduated from The University of Ottawa in 2016 with a Bachelor in Human Services and has been working with a community action agency in Ottawa for about two years. Michel loves reaching the lost; that is why all her work is helping under privileged people.

Michel has a great laugh and an encouraging smile. She inspires others to be their best and to live for Jesus in all she does. She lives her life as an example to others. Like Paul says, we’re all struggling, but you can follow me and I’ll show you how to get closer to Jesus. Those around Michel follow her and get closer to Jesus.

After knowing this about Michel, its obvious why she would want to join the World Race. Jesus led her to apply, Jesus led the team to accept her, and Jesus will lead her as she goes into the world and impacts the lives of everyone she meets. Michel has been called to go. She has been going since she could walk and doesn’t look back. This is the next step in her calling and you can be a part of that. You can help Michel go just like the church helped Paul go. I know that following Michel on her journey will impact those of us who have to stay home for the better. Just knowing Michel has made us better people, how on earth could we be selfish enough to strap her here when we could send her into the world to do good there?

Michel has struggles like we all do, but that doesn’t stop her from listening to Jesus. If you want to pray for Michel, pray that she listens with her whole heart and that she trains every day to understand what Jesus’ voice sounds like. Let her not miss his words and his direction. This next year will be full of crazy experiences and opportunities. Her schedule may be full and at times too stressful. Pray that Michel never forgets who she’s living for. That she always turns to Jesus and never someone with less authority. Pray for Michel’s life and freedom. The devil comes to kill, steal, and destroy, but Jesus came so we could have life and have it to the full. Pray for Michel’s full life to grow, to be inspired, to be impactful, to be amazing. Let Jesus blow her away every day with his Love and presence. “

My friend wrote this about me. She is right about everything except my name…most people call me Michelle. (Though I love her and her nicknames!) My friend gave a picture ofmyself that I often struggle to see. I struggle with self-confidence, but I am bold in Jesus. I struggle with believing the lies that the Devil likes to ensnare me with, but with Christ I am a new creation. “Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.” (1 John 4:4) So I keep pressing on towards the goal.

As a little girl, Jesus has softened my heart for the nations. I remember clearly singing the hymn, “Here I am, Lord” and telling God that if He wanted me to I would go. In high school, an opportunity arose and I found myself on a mission trip in South Africa. I loved seeing God’s joy and love in the midst of poverty and brokenness. The trip grew my love for missions.

After graduating college, I looked for mission opportunities but fear kept me from pursuing them. So instead I started working with low-income families and their children in my hometown. I love working with families and their toddlers. I have learned so much about child development and poverty in Kansas. But I am so excited for this opportunity to share the gospel to the nations!

Thank you for considering partnering with me on my trip. I look forward to sharing with you my stories and Jesus’ stories as I go along.
