Every season comes to an end and it is beyond crazy to say that I have 100 days left on the field before I am back in the United States.
The Race has been an incredible season of exponential growth. When I chat with my fellow World Racers we always laugh and say that we have learned 5 to 10 years worth of lessons in this short 11 month season. The Lord has used these 350 something numbered days to truly stretch and grow us beyond what we could have ever imagined.
The race serves as a great reminder that our days are numbered on this earth. Not only do seasons end one after another, but we also do have a final ending to our lives.
“So teach me to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom.”
Psalm 90:12
“Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.”
Psalm 139:16
Though we don’t always know when a season will end or what the Lord might be calling us to next or even when our life will be over, the Lord calls us to live our lives with purpose and the knowledge that our days are numbered.
Having this reminder that our days are numbered helps serve as a great way to get us excited and fired up to live and serve others wholeheartedly no matter what season we are in because there is great purpose in each day we live on earth.
The Lord is calling me to keep this reminder on a sticky note in my bible so I can daily be reminded to give God the glory and live each day to the fullest as He calls me to serve his people, not only as these 100 days wind down, but for the rest of my life.
Where do you need to change your perspective on how you are living in a current season or your life in general? Your days are numbered, yet you still get the chance to live a life that is filled with meaning and incredible purpose.
As we prepare for our final continent change to Africa, I am reminded that this season will be over before I know it, but I will be carrying so much growth and life lessons with me into the next season of life. For the final 100 days of the race, I challenged myself to write a special journal entry each day that will be focused on thanking God for this season and writing down one lesson he is currently teaching me or has taught me on the race.
Cheers to 100 more days of living WAY OUT of the ordinary and reshaping the way I see the rest of my life and the way I live it: “To bring God glory and further His kingdom on earth with the number of days He blesses me with.”
Thanks for reading and following along! Never forget that each day on earth is a precious gift from the Lord and we get to choose how we spend each one of them. Choose joy and an abundant life!
Much love,
Michelle
(P.S. I will be landing in New York City on November 20th! Please already be praying for the re-entry process back into the States, I know it will be one of the greatest challenges upon arrival and transition into the next season of life. But God is good and I AM SO EXCITED to talk your ears off about everything that has happened in this race season!!)
A little pre-race throw back pic! At that point we had no idea what we were getting ourselves into!!! haha
Still one of my favorite memories from the race! India holds a very special place in my heart! I will return there one day! Also, love these sweet sisters!!
