It’s real and it’s sinking in that I have officially landed back in the United States with no agenda to leave the States for longer than 4 or 5 days in the next year.
Over the course of these past 16 months of World Racing I have visited 21 countries and lived a constant transient life. An oxymoron, but so true for what I have experienced. As culture, country, friends, food, ministry, and memories constantly changed from month to month my constant was knowing that I would have to get up and leave in 3 to 4 weeks time from settling into a place. This constant transient life taught me to live each day with purpose and intentionality. No day needs to be wasted when we know that we only have a short amount of time to impact someone’s life and pour into them. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this always on the move lifestyle, but I am so excited to come home to America and plant some roots in one place.
I am so excited to live with more intnetionality and purpose in loving people well and living with abundant grace back here in America, two key lessons I learned on the field.
So as I begin transitioning back into the United States, I thought it fitting to share a short update on what re-entry looks life for the next month. I am not quite done with the transient lifestyle until July 13th.
My first 5 days back in the States have been spent debriefing and processing alumni squad leading with my co leaders and squad mentor. This has been such a sweet time of rest and closure to such a full season of squad leading. More to come on alumni squad leading later on.
I am now in Richmond with two squad mates visiting my alumni squad leader for a few days and then headed to DC to rest and reconnect with my oldest sister for a few weeks. I will then make my way to the Midwest to visit and reconnect with squadmates and college friends who I haven’t seen since leaving for my 11n11 race.
I am excited to spend the next few weeks moving around, processing more of my World Race experience and squad leading, and reconnecting with dear friends and family. When I asked the Lord what He thought I needed upon re-entering America, He told me exactly this so I am excited to ease my way back into the States with friends and family and lots of much needed rest.
THANK YOU to everyone who has been a part of this World Race experience and epic kingdom journey!! I have felt SO LOVED and SUPPORTED through out this two year season and I am so excited to come home and reconnect with many of you who have walked this journey with me. 2016-2018 will always be a very special bookmarked chapter of my life and I am beyond thankful that God blessed me with such an incredible group of supporters and friends. I have experienced God’s faithfulness through all of you time and time again, so thank you for blessing me and everyone I got to serve around the world! You all are truly incredible and a gift!
As I rest and spend time reflecting over these next few months I will continue to post blogs and share stories from alumni squad leading (sorry I didn’t keep y’all as updated as my race!!).
Prayers are appreciated for this new transition back into America and whatever this next season of life holds! I will be looking for a job in the next few months, so this is another area that I would appreciate prayer over/ send jobs my way if you know of any that would be fitting! 😉
Much love to you all!!
Until Next Time,
Michelle
