“You don’t have to come, but you always do”
This sweet realization has been playing in my mind for the past two months. Jesus didn’t have to die for the sins of the world, God could have brought a different account about, yet Jesus did die for our sins.
Jesus doesn’t have to continually meet us in our frustrations, wanderings, stubbornness, or busyness of life, yet He always does. Faithfully day after day, He calls us, meets us, and sits with us wherever we are.
Easter Sunday this year has been spent on a beach in Cambodia. We began our morning by reading the resurrection and ascension in all of the Gospels and Acts. As we read and remembered all that has happened through the ministry of Jesus it was beyond moving to acknowledge that He was present and sitting with us on this beach, listening to us read His story of redemption.
As Jesus sits here on the beach with me and we look out over the ocean, I can’t help but thank Him because He ALWAYS comes into my daily life even when He doesn’t have to. He always shows up in the quiet or the chaotic times of life.
This Easter Sunday I’m grateful to remember that yes indeed Christ has risen, He paid the ultimate price, and now sits next to you and I constantly day after day. Have a blessed Easter and may you acknowledge the Savior who sits next to you and talks to you. You might not recognize Him for who He is, but He is always next to you.
Thanks for helping make this beautiful and unique Easter happen this year in Cambodia!
*Happy Easter from Cambodia!
*The best kind of love is displayed in action. Spending an hour dancing, laughing, hugging and connecting with this sweet girl will be a memory I hold onto. Grateful for the chance to love her and show her that Jesus loves her even more. Being a girl in Cambodia comes with great risks of being sold into prostitution. Prayers for our sweet Cambodian and Vietnamese girls and women are greatly appreciated. It is a totally different world over here.
Love,
Michelle
P.S. Eat some really good Easter dinner food and some chocolate eggs in my honor 😉
