As I shared in my last blog I will be headed back out on the field with the World Race for 5 more months as an alumni squad leader.

Leaving for these 5 months will look different from my race. As an alumni squad leader I will be fully focused on discipling and helping new racers start their World Race journey with the Lord. I will walk alongside my new squad and help encourage and challenge growth as they seek to become more like Christ and live out the gospel overseas.

I will co-lead with three other alumni world racers, one of them being a very dear friend Sylvia from my current squad! Each one of us will spend two weeks at a time with a team and then travel to a new team in order to ensure that every team and racer gets the opportunity to be poured into and supported by someone who has already done the World Race.

At the beginning of January I will fly to Atlanta  for an event called PSL (project search light) where I get to re-connect with my current squad one last time and walk through what re-entry back into the States and our old communities looks like. From there I will head to launch in Atlanta where I will meet my squad for the first time and prepare to leave.

We will fly to the Ivory Coast and spend one month there and then from there spend one month in each of the following countries: Ghana, Cambodia, Thailand, and Myanmar.

At the end of May (Month 5) once we finish training the raised up squad leaders, we will pass the torch on to them to lead the squad and I will head back home to begin the next season God calls me to.

I will have the opportunity in Month 8 and Month 11 of my squad’s race to come to their debriefs and reconnect with them. These will most likely take place in Belize (August) and Nicaragua (November).

I will be back in the States for roughly 55 days before leaving again, but will only be in the beautiful Pacific Northwest for 35 days. I am SO BEYOND EXCITED to come home and spend time with all of you whether that means in person or on FaceTime! You better not think for one second I’ve forgotten about any of you over the past 11 months. ๐Ÿ™‚

In preparation for leaving again, I will be support raising once again and this time I will be raising $6500. God asked me to say ‘YES’ to Him a second time and in saying yes once again I get to continue trusting Him to provide through a team of supporters.

If you would like to join my support team for round 2, I would love to have you be a part of God’s calling. There are many ways I am looking for support. First through prayer, it has been and will continue to be through prayer that this journey unfolds. *I’m going to actually start a prayer update this round and would love to have people intentionally praying for me month by month.* Second, I am needing to raise $6500 for my time out on the field and for the two debriefs I will travel to and be a part of.

It’s crazy to be going back out so soon and raising support again, but I have so much peace with all of it and know that this is exactly where God wants me in the next season of life.

What does my timeline look like for support raising? After this blog, I will not be dedicating anymore time to preparing for alumni squad leading or talking about support raising until I finish my race and spend some time resting back home. However, if you feel called or want to join my support team for Round 2, AIM has already switched my account over to alumni squad leading and you can donate!

Please reach out to me through my blog or [email protected] about joining my support team for Round 2 or any questions you might have! And if you don’t reach out, I’ll probably be reaching out to you in the upcoming month or two. ๐Ÿ˜‰

16 more days friends and family! I am definitely cherishing every single day of this final month in South Africa!

Until Next Time,

Michelle

P.S. As I prepare to come home soon and am in need of raising personal money to go out on the field again, I am looking for any odd jobs, babysitting, petsitting, or housesitting jobs! If you know of anyone looking to hire, please reach out to me or send them my way! This is also a point of prayer that you guys can be praying about too! ๐Ÿ™‚

*Spending our finals days of the race in SA with the sweetest children!!
