Dear Nepal,

You were one crazy month.
I think I have a love hate relationship with you.
You threw me a few surprises. You sure are gorgeous and your mountains are breathtaking.
I’m pretty sure I saw your whole country… through the window of a bus or taxi.
About that…your bus drivers are insane and made me sick.
But it was worth it.
Believe it or not, I plan to be back. So get ready for me. Next time I will trek the Himalaya’s and maybe even Mt. Everest.

Remember us? Yep, the 5 of us traveled across Nepal and we hit up 6 of our teams.

We spent at least 150+ hours traveling either by bus, taxi, or van.
We made a few stops…

Stop #1:
Mt. Everest. Incredible. No words.
Kinda a tease being on an airplane when all I wanted to do was hop off and make a snow angel and run around the snow!

Stop #2:
Team Chi Ro and Team Carpem Deo
Kathmandu, Nepal
Our trip started off with a few unexpected surprises. One of them being a bus wreck. Two of our teams were in a head on collision traveling to a village on the mountains. The Lord’s hand of protection was all over them. They experienced a supernatural peace in the midst of chaos. We traveled up to see them and bring them back to the city. They had a challenging month but each person grew in such sweet ways. Not only were they able to get back on a bus without fear-the last week they climbed a mountain and rode down on top of a bus!

P.S. they threw me the best surprise fall festival birthday I could have ever asked for…with carmel apples, pop corn, hot chocolate, chips & guac, cake balls and pumpkins!!!

Stop #3:
Team Kingdom Katalyst
Sarali, Nepal
I love the village life. Simple. Slept in a tent. Woke up to chai and parle-g cookies and went to bed after 6pm dinner because the power went out. We took bucket showers. No internet- thank you. And went on a 9 hour hike through the villages and jungles of Nepal to spread the name of Jesus. Loved every minute of it.

P.S.S. I rode my first yak ever.

Stop #4
Team Jubilation
Bharatpur, Nepal
We stayed at a home and church of a devoted pastor and his wife. They love Jesus. We helped organize and teach a youth meeting. We woke up at 5:30 am to worship and pray. I will never hear “this is the day that the Lord has made…” the same again. They taught me devotion and discipline and I learned the game "whatchya got in that BAG?!"

Stop #5
Team Tambo Tribe
Sweet village in the mountains
This visit was exactly what I needed. All GIRLS team staying at Pastor Megh’s home. His home if full of joy, life, and laughter. The second I walked in- I felt right at home. His wife made me the biggest bowl of popcorn I have ever seen. I cooked in the kitchen and learned how to make chapatti. I watched a movie with the girls and ate chocolate. We had the sweetest time of worship and prayer with his family every night. We worshiped with them at church and felt the presence of the Lord. We taught at a school and had so much fun with the kids. I didn’t want to leave. I will come visit again!

Stop 6
Team Deep Roots
Lalitpur, Nepal
Love this team, loved our time. We were able to see the fruits of their labor. They partnered with Happy Homes a non-christian organization for the month. They had incredible favor with the home and were able to teach the children about Jesus for the first time. I walked into the school and the first thing that came out of their mouths was “Do you know Jesus? I love Him very much.” They now pray to Jesus every day because of this team’s faithfulness. In just a few days I fell in love with these children. I wanted to take them home with me. And I was able to run through the village, worship on the rooftop, and walk to the school every day with the snow top mountains as my view. No words.

Until next time Nepal!

Yours truly,
Michelle
