Just the other day I was asked,
"Michelle, how do you know God REALLY spoke to you and told you to go?"

I can remember at an early age praying "God, I just want to hear your voice…" and hoping to hear a loud, BOOMING, audible voice.

I've discovered that it may look and sound a little different than I expect. And many times God speaks very clearly but I'm not listening or even realize He’s speaking directly to me.

So how do I know God spoke to me and told me to go?

January I prayed and fasted about going on the World Race. I needed to know if this was God's plan for me.

11 countries in 11 months in 2011.

Exchange everything I know…everything comfortable…

                                                for a:

                                             backpack
                                               tent, &
                                          sleeping bag.

My phone lighting up at 11:11 everyday wasn't enough.

I needed more. I needed confirmation and I needed to hear His voice.

So what did I hear?  Go.

Jesus says, "Go to the lost sheep…
and proclaim as you go saying the kingdom of heaven is at hand, heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, cast out demons. Freely you received, freely give."

                                              –  matthew 10:6

"Go..
make disciples of ALL NATIONS,
baptizing them in the
name of the Father and of
the Son and of the
Holy Spirit."

  -matthew 28:19

"You will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria…
and to the ends of the earth."
                                                                                                                                  – acts 1:8

Isaiah 58:6-7:
"Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen

God's words are very clear.

The question is am I willing to listen to them?

Take them literally and follow and obey? Even if it seems pretty radical and extreem.

It sure is easier to simply read the Bible (preferably the encouraging verses) and check it off my to do list rather than listen and live them out each day.

They say be careful what you pray for..

my prayers to hear God's voice as a young child have been answered..

His voice, His Word
is LOUD & clear.

So much so it's taking me outta my comfort zone in                                                                                                                                               2011.
