Team Reckless at the river by our orphanage in Haiti. Left to Right: Alison, Sara,William, Blake(new member of our team, he joined us right before we left for Haiti), me, & Krystel. Enjoying God’s breath taking creation. Spent few hrs playing with the orphans there…they loved it!About a mile walk through the hills from the orphanage.
This is our gorgeous view from every angle of the orphanage…this is what we get to wake up to everyday..these beautiful mountains & these 78 precious kids.
This is what it’s all about….being the hands & feet of Jesus!
I had the privilege & honor of preaching a sermon at the Haitian church last Sunday morning, with a help of one of our Creole translators. Krystel Kemper & i also had an awesome opportunity to go help with a medical ministry team the last 2 days, all day. We saw 700 men, women & children get treatment!! God is so good!! I’m getting to know more of the orphans here & learning their long Creole names haha. They wait at our doorstep every morning to play basketball with them at 5:30am & follow us around everywhere, yelling our names outloud & falling asleep in our arms whenever we hold them. They crave so much love & attention & i try my best to spend as many hours during my day with them as a i can. I pray that they will grow up to know God’s love for them & see their identity in Him. I can’t imagine growing up without a mom & a dad. I pray that all 78 of them will be provided for, loved & encouraged each day.We have 2 more weeks left here in Haiti, & then we fly out to Ireland Aug 28th. (please pray for my back. I threw out my back a few days ago & i was in severe pain. Had to lay in bed for a few days & took pain killers. With lots of prayer & rest im doing better, but it still hurts. We have very physically demanding days here, so any prayer with that is much appreciated! I think i pinched a nerve. One of the missionaries that was here gave me his heating pad before he left, so that has been helping!)
Now, a word from my Daddy. My Best Friend. My Creator. My #1 Fan.My Redeemer. My Refuge. My Strength. My True Love:
Isaiah 61:1-3 “The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to preach good news to the poor.He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion-to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise
instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of His splendor.”
