Hola mi amigos y  mi familia!! Part of our squad of 74 people left for Haiti. Now there’s about 46 of us left in the Dominican Republic staying in a missionary house that has 4 bedrooms. haha you do the math. There are about 11 bunkbeds and the rest of us have our sleeping bags and air mattresses spread out on the tile floor of the living room and kitchen haha it’s like Real World style, but Christian. Craziness. You place about 46 people, ages 21-31 in one house, with all different personalities and backgrounds=never a dull moment. Despite all of us in one house, it’s been peaceful and a sanctuary. God’s presence is definitely felt in that house and He has protected us. There is amazing UNITY among all of us…God gets the credit, that’s for sure!
We will stay here in San Juan doing different ministries until July 31st, then we all head to Haiti for a month.  We start our ministries this tuesday, July 13th. Despite all of the poverty here, this area has alot of joy and life. The last few days we have been exploring this energetic, lively city and getting to know the local kids and adults on the street and in our neighborhood. Some of our ministries we will probably be doing are block parties, sport camps, vacation bible school with the kids, outreaches, and just loving on everyone we come into contact with and learning about them. I LOVE experiencing and learning about new cultures. I’ve been brushing up on my Spanish since most dont speak any english here. We are near the beautiful green mountains and surrounded by mango and banana trees.I almost got knocked out by a mango  as it dropped on my head… who knew they were dangerous?! 🙂 This picture is Bryan, my new favorite amigo!
CALLING ALL PRAYER WARRIORS: my team and i have a huge request. Would you pray for us at 11am everyday?!8am westcoast time and 11am east coast time. There are people praying for us all over the U.S.A.  and we would love for you to join in.Our team prays for each other at 11am daily-east coast time. Prayer changes things!

I’ve been meditating on this verse & APPLYING IT. For what good does it do if i just read it if i dont apply it to my life and live it out on a daily basis? Philippians 2:14 -16 “Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe as you hold out the word of life-in order that i may boast on the day of Christ that i did not run or labor for nothing.”  There’s so many things  i could complain about here..hot humid it is..how the electricity and water shuts off for hours at times, how different and challenging everything is…but I’m called to NOT complain. There’s ALWAYS something to be thankful for. In order to have peace, you must have a thankful heart.Plus no one wants to be around me or anyone else when they are complaining. Could you imagine a house of 46 people if everyone was complaning. Aye Carumba. Thought i’d share that with you all :)(this pic is Amber, Bryan’s big sis. They’ve given me such joy these past few days)
Random horses everywhere..i just want to jump on them and ride them bareback! haha
