A few blogs ago I asked for you all to pray for Roxanne. If you remember she is a little girl who was born with only one leg. The Lord spoke one day while I was praying for her. HE said I want you and Charlotte (one of my team members) to bring JOY to her. So I opened my Bible to 2nd Corinthians, Chapter 7. It talks all about Paul’s JOY. So it was pretty clear what the Lord wanted from me. So over the next few weeks Charlotte and I visited Roxanne and just had fun with her. After not being able to visit with her in a few days…I asked Charlotte to ask the nurse about the status of her new prosthesis…so Charlotte got up and walked outside and came right back in and said, “Michelle, Roxanne is here.” You see my other teammate Catherine always prays for Divine Appointments. This is exactly what that was. Before I knew it Charlotte, Marilou (our translator), Roxanne, and myself were on our way to the hospital to get an X-ray for her new prosthesis. The Lord literally brought her to us that day. The day was filled with JOY. We listened to music, ate McDonald’s, colored, and got ice cream. One of my specific prayers was that Roxanne’s smile would brighten. When we first met her she was so quiet and withdrawn. If she smiled it was only for a second. That day there was a change…she experience true JOY. Not because of us…but because of the Lord. Here are a few pictures that demonstrate what the Lord did. The picture to the left was the first time we hung out with her. The one on the right hand side was two weeks later. You can see it on her face. She is now overflowing with JOY. I love it. God is good.

Everthing you do in life is connected. I strongly believe that. The Lord also gave me the opportunity to do Child Life yet again, in another country. The picture above is me expalining that we were about to go to the hospital to get an X-ray. I was able to prepare Roxanne for the day ahead. HE knows my love and desire of helping children in hospitals and gave me this opportunity. HE seriously knows me so well and is constantly doing cool things like this.

Finally, God has been speaking to me about LOVE. Robby, one of our squad leaders talked to us about transitioning to another country and saying goodbye. He asked the question, “Is love enough?” We are called to love God and love others. As we transition from country to country all we can really do is LOVE. We don’t have the time, the resources, or money to fix everything. But, we must trust that the LOVE of God is enough. On the way home the hospital with Roxanne we were listening to Chris Tomlin’s “Hello Love” cd and Roxanne pointed to my Ipod to the word “Love” and said “Love” then she pointed to her shorts which also had “Love”on them. That was it. But, it was just a reminder that yes, LOVE is enough.
