So, its been over 2 months since I last wrote a blog and told you all that I would be writing one more and would share my new blog with everyone. So, why did it take so long and what have I been up to?!?
Well, let’s just say that the last few months have been HARD. It’s been quite an adjustment. Distractions everywhere you turn and a lot of noise. I had a hard time concentrating and I struggled. I was confused about what God was doing. So, here I am…back in Ohio and I have no idea what is next for me. I mean I know what it looks like in the future…He’s given me this dream (if you don’t know what dream I’m talking about read the last blog: picture this) that He wants me to pursue but I struggled with where to begin.
But, God led me to two organizations. I began volunteering with The Gathering Place that offers support programs for anyone affected by cancer. I am working with children 5-15 who have had a parent die of cancer. It’s very cool to watch children and teens come together and learn from each other, especially because they learn that there are other kids who are hurting just as they are. It’s true community. In addition, I recently completed a grief facilitator training at a local Christian organization called Cornerstone of Hope. This is truly an amazing organization that I am so blessed to have the opportunity to learn from a place that offers such Hope for children and families who are grieving.
So, to be honest…some days…I wake up and I think “what am I doing? This is absolutely crazy. There is no way I can do this.” And, then God reminds me that I can because of Him. So, then He’ll speak to encourage me through His word or others. Here are a few examples of the TRUTH that He’s led me to:
“God wants it more than we do. He will make His will happen no matter the cost or its seeming improbability.”
“Many times the dream that God puts in your heart will look impossible. It will look exceedingly abundantly above and beyond your natural ability, but God is able to do super abundantly above and beyond all that you ask or think! God specializes in the impossible.” Mark 9:23; 10:27
“I remember the days of long ago. I meditate on all your works and consider what your hands have done. My soul thirsts for you like a parched land. Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go. Teach me to do your will, for you are my God, for I am your servant.” – Psalm 143:8
Ahhh…gives me chills just thinking about what God can do. So thankful He’s got me.
With all that being said, God has totally provided opportunities for me to learn and invest during this transition in what He wants for my future.
I also have an opportunity to attend a training in Portland, Oregon this July that will further equip me for eventually starting a grief center. The Dougy Center is nationally recognized for the work they do in providing support for grieving families as well as providing trainings for future organizations which includes: 501(c)3 information, funding, and board development. I am praying into attending this training and would love to have you pray with me. If you are interested in hearing more or helping me get there…the training is about $1,500 (including airfare)…please send me a message or leave your email in the comment section below.
Finally, you see…this dream is going to be more than helping children and families who are grieving. It is going to offer families opportunities for life long legacies while providing HOPE to other people around the WORLD.
I will leave you with this thought…
One thing that I am learning is that I want to go for it. I want to at least try because I believe trying is a big part of faith. Faith without action is dead, right? So, as an encouragement to anyone who reads this…go for it! That thing that you have always wanted to do, that passion inside of you…just try and see what happens…
…you may be surprised.
Love,
Michelle Noble
