Hi Everyone –

Our ministry this week has been awesome. We have  been helping out with a few conferences…we have been serving in a variety of ways by providing security (haha), registration, ushers, etc. It has been fun to be a part of a large gathering of believers from around the world.

Today I was able to spend almost the entire day with a 6 year old girl who had anxiety about leaving her parents during the conference. After spending a little while with her and her parents…Mom mentioned to me that she had several operations and has been very clingy lately. I was like well…here I am in New Zealand about to use some Child Life skills. I was just blown away. I mean I know that God has used my job at CHOP to prepare me for this trip but I just thought it was so cool that God gave me this opportuity to get to know this little girl. We processed a lot about why she is so afraid as well as her numerous surgeries. She was able to express exactly how she was feeling. It was awesome. We laughed, colored, and talked about what we could do when we are fearful. I shared a verse with her… and made her two crosses…out of mulch and grass. One was for her to keep and one for her parents. I told her that she doesnt have to be afraid because God is ALWAYS with her. As I was speaking those words…I was speaking them to myself as well. It is so easy to be fearful…but we don’t have to be. To make the story cooler…back at training camp in October…one of the WR alumni’s prayed that I would see a butterfly in each country to remind myself how much God adores me. Well…today my new little friend drew a HUGE butterfly.

Thank you Lord for
this little girl and her butterfly.
