So, month 10 (2nd to last month of the race) has begun. After 50+ hours on a train I am in a beautiful city named Timisoara in Romania. We are working with an organization called Potter’s House (www.chosen.ro). Potter’s House is an organization that helps the community in a variety of ways. During our 3 weeks here we will be serving at a day center for children and teenagers and will be going on a few medical missions to a few surrounding villages. I am super excited for this month – kids and medical missions – two things that I love! We are staying in a beautiful house with the sweetest family. They have already blessed us in so many ways and it is only our second full day here. Today we picked grapes off vines in their backyard found a nearby Starbucks (yes, Starbucks!!!) and had great conversations as a team. The thing we are starting to realize is that we only have 6 weeks left on this crazy journey. We literally can drive each other crazy but the very thought of not have each person right there through everything is very sad and even scary. My team is my family. They are people that know me well, that have challenged me in many ways, and have been there when I have needed them. We have been through so much together – good and hard times. And, now we are beginning to prepare ourselves that it is almost over. There have been times throughout this race when each of us have been NPH (next plane home) – now is not one of those time. We are so here and now. We are loving each other well and thanking God for giving us this opportunity. The race has shown me how beautiful community is and how necessary it is. I love each and every one of my teammates dearly – so S.W.A.T team – here’s to you! I love you to pieces! Thank you for loving me and for making me laugh so hard that I cry! : )
