Something that has really struck me
this Christmas Season is…
Jesus didn’t have to come to earth. He
didn’t have to save us…
He chose to.
And what blows me away the most is the
way He came. He came in the form of a baby. God came to earth in
human form and experienced all we have to go through,. Fully God and
Fully Man…here on this earth that is broken.
And He chose to be born in a manger. To
a fairly poor family. To work for thirty years. To be tempted in
every way. To feel pain, heat, cold, and hunger.
The God of the universe who can speak
things into being..
.Chose to be submissive to parents that
I suppose you could say He created
Chose to come in a time period without
running water, electricity, and plumbing (things many people
consider basic necessities in life)
He came to a world that had traded
paradise for the illusion of power. A world that traded His
friendship for self interest…Heaven for the choice of Hell.
It’s crazy…
His humility…to come to this earth
and live as a human! To chose poverty. To befriend those on earth who
gained him nothing soically. The poor, the smelly, the arrogant, the
cruel, the slutty, the murderers… To die a humiliating and painful
death on a cross to save you and me….
It’s strange to me…and i’ve told God
that. I think it makes Him laugh.
I’m just reminded what an amazing God
we serve. I feel like I’ve heard a million sermons on this before but
my spirit seems to have gained revelation once again. I hope I’m
always this astonished and grateful for what our God has done.
A quote that I got from my teammate aly
that she got from her friend Anna…
How many kings stepped down from their
thrones?
How many lords have abandoned their
homes?
How many greats have become the least
for me?
How many Gods have poured out their
hearts to romance a world that has torn all apart?
How many fathers gave up their sons
for me?
Only one did that for me
May the lamb of God receive the reward
of His suffering
Blessings,
Elle
