This is my third day in the Ukraine. Ifm working with Andrew Kelly and his organization called Jeremiahfs Hope! He runs summer camps for Ukrainian orphans. This week and next week the camp is for missionary kids in the Ukraine area. Friday the kids initiated us with a water fight and we put on skits for them, had time of worship, and a camp fire. Next week I will be staying in cabins with children! Then we will have a week of repairing camp and helping with a Ukrainian church renting it out. Then the next week will be our first week with Ukrainian orphans.

This camp is awesome! It is in a village of about 200 people. The land use to be a river bed so it feels like we are on a beach minus an ocean. I havenft been wearing shoes and have been enjoying the sand between my toes. While helping to prepare food I like to watch the neighbors loading hay in trunk and the cows walking down the “street” to go to the pasture. Today I have been doing laundry, scrubbing toilets, cleaning showers, helping prepare food, and other cleaning things to do to prepare for the week!

Ifm so grateful to serve in this ministry. To be able to help grow and encourage young missionary kids in their faith, to support the Kellyfs, and to reach out to children who live a very hard life.

I was spending time with the Lord today and reading Romans chapter 12. I sometimes like to pray scripture. There is just something so deeply powerful about the word of God. When going into ministry I feel like the biggest struggle for me to maintain zeal and to do everything out of love and for God. I can become so focused on doing I forget to just be Godfs child and its all for Him. So this was my prayer today from Romans 12:9-15:

Lord, Let my love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good. Help me love one another with brotherly affection. May my team outdo one another in showing honor. I will not be slothful in zeal, may I be fervent in spirit, I will serve you Lord. Help me to rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. May I contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality. Bless those who persecute me; I will bless and not curse them. Show me how to rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep.

And in case you were wonderingcapparently roosters donft just crow at sunrise (4:30) but throughout the day! And there very may well be more chickens & roosters in this town than people.

I will post pictures soon!
