This is a question I am going to be asked over and over when I return home from the World Race in June. I have already been asked it by several squad mates and those whom I have told about my return to Kathmandu, Nepal in August for a 10-month internship to work with the Gethsemane House of Prayer. There are a few reasons I chose Nepal:

            – Most importantly, a higher calling from God in His wonderful plans for my life and it’s next season.

            – It’s natural! One night while on the streets of Thamel, Kathmandu, was the most natural and supernatural ministry I have ever felt in my life. I had the opportunity to speak life over 3 street girls and the Holy Spirit used me as His vessel to speak into these young women.

            – To seek the Holy Spirit in His spiritual gifting’s for my life and how I can use them to better the Kingdom.

            – Return to an environment where the Holy Spirit is so welcomed that He manifests Himself through miracles, healings, words, and a lifestyle I seek to live.

After one month in Nepal this past February, I truly fell in love with the nation, the Nepalese people, and the revival that is happening there. Before my time in Nepal, I have never experienced a revival, but there is a big movement happening there, through healings, salvations, testimonies of God’s goodness and faithfulness, and God’s love covering His children. From the beginning it was very evident to me the body of Christ is present in the nation and it reminds me of this passage in Ephesians:

“There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call— one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.”

Ephesians 4:4-6

As this verse says there is one body and one spirit, we all serve one Lord and one Father so together we are all one. I had the opportunity to meet many members of the body in Nepal, from our contact, local believers, to the international missionaries and friends I met at the House of prayer, I love their devotion to Nepal and see so much love in them. Ever Friday night, I had the chance to do ministry with the guys from the prayer house. We would seek the Lord for words, visions, or anything that would lead us in His path for the evening and then it was time to hit the streets and see how the Lord would reveal all He had given us through healings, sharing Jesus’ love, our surroundings, and the evening ended with eating dinner with the street kids. These are kids who live on the streets of Thamel who have left their homes in villages in hope of a better life. Most of them end up in worse situations, many are trafficked especially girls, and become addicted to drugs that ultimately destroy their lives. It was the second Friday night out when the Lord allowed me to speak with the street girls, when the Lord revealed my future of returning to Nepal.

At first I was so unsure of what this would look like, support raising again, the response of those around me, and trying to decide if this was truly where the Lord was calling me or just my emotions. I can honestly say after having been gone from Nepal for a month in a half now, that I have even more faith this is exactly where God wants me for this next season. He continues to grow my heart for this nation and all His children there whom He plans to use me to minister to.

One thing I have learned from the World Race is not to put God in a box and only allow Him to show up in certain ways. I plan to seek Him every day and see what He has for my time there and not put any expectations on what I want out of this internship. There are a few ministries I will definitely be involved with: a 24-hour prayer over the nation through rotation, Thamel street ministry (which I was involved with during my time there), Iris Nepal’s Children’s home, banquet house ministry and church. My heart desires to fall more in love with Jesus everyday while I am there, to become more in His image, and to serve Him with my whole heart.

In the upcoming weeks I will be finding out more information about the internship and specifically when exactly I will be in Nepal. I ask for prayers as God continues to prepare me for this next kingdom journey and finishing up the World Race. This journey will not be possible without raising support, so I ask you to prayerfully consider supporting me.
