Apart from regular ministry, a squad mate of mine knows a fellow in Kathmandu who runs the IHOP (International House of Prayer) in this city.  I had never heard of IHOP besides the place with fluffy pancakes and grits, but it is a legit community of believers. This past Friday, we met up with him after dinner to seek the Lord to see what He had for us that evening.  When we first arrived, he was busy sharing the Gospel to a security guard, when a man with his daughter overheard and wanted this gift of salvation.  I then had the opportunity to share the Gospel with a local Nepalese man and his daughter on the busy streets of Kathmandu with the help of a translator.  While I was sharing, a young woman approached and was so interested in salvation.  I led all 3 of them in a prayer of salvation to ask Jesus into their hearts.  In the middle of the prayer, a security guard approached us blowing his whistle to tell us to move, but I continued to pray and 3 more entered the family of Christ.  It was so amazing; God used me to share His story, and jacked me up for the rest of the night!

After this, there was a group of about 15 of us and we entered into a time of prayer to ask God what He had for us that night.  There were a few words that God gave us: red, smiling face, kite, squiggly line, and leg pain.  This leg pain was felt by my teammate, Emily, and we started walking the streets in search of someone with leg pain. We walked about 50 feet when we saw who was in need of healing in their leg. It was a man sitting on the side of a street.  Approaching him, he told us he couldn’t move his right hand and it was very swollen.  So we began praying over his hand and asking God to heal it in Jesus’ name.  Before my very eyes, I saw God heal this man and he was stretching his hands in new ways.  All the words or visions the Lord gave us for the evening were present: red, smiley face, etc.  He was so happy and couldn’t stop smiling and shouting in the streets that he had been healed.  This attracted a crowd, and we had the opportunity to share the Gospel with many others on the streets.  While we were praying for him, my teammate felt the pain ease from her leg.  To God be the glory in this healing and using us to share His story of salvation with many.  It was such a sweet night!

This was such a testament to the fact that we each are called to a lifestyle of ministry.  We don’t need to leave our homes, or have contacts with ministry, but all we have to do is go into our communities to preach the Good News.  God has called each of us to be proclaimers of His Word, and to be a light to those we encounter. Are you this light today? And are you telling others that Jesus wants their hearts?

The following evening, a few of my squad mates and I went to the IHOP house to attend worship.  The same fellow that my squad mate knows led worship and offered this to be a place of freely worshiping God however our hearts desired.  This evening started with a time to share testimonies about what God is doing in Kathmandu, Nepal or in the world.  I shared that I have seen so much light in one week here in the city and over the last 7 months and how I have seen God everywhere in the world.  Among the darkness and heavy places I have been, He is there doing work in His people.  This was a time for me to worship and spend time with Jesus.  In the middle of the room there were stools to sit on if you needed prayer.  One of the Nepalese gals sat on the stool and I took this opportunity to pray over her.  She shared with me that she has been affected by black magic and has no control of her throat.  For 15 minutes I prayed over her seeking God to immediately take this out of her body and use this as a testimony of His greatness.  For the first time in my life I was physically exhausted from doing work for the Lord, having faith knowing He healed her.  God moved in these 2 nights so much and neither were planned ministry.  I challenge each of you to tell someone about Jesus today.  Just get out there and do it!!
