I have observed the Lord’s Supper numerous times in my life from church services, in someone’s home, to a group setting. This past Thursday I experienced it in a new and different way; taking time to reflect what it was like when Jesus had His last supper with His disciples.

“And as they were eating, He took break, and after blessing it broke it and gave it to them, and said, ‘Take; this is my body.’ And He took the cup, and when He had given thanks He gave it to them, and they all drank of it. And He said to them, “This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many. Truly, I say to you, I will not drink again of the fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new in the kingdom of God.”

Mark 14:22-25

This Easter season I am in Moldova in Eastern Europe, where I am spending month 10 on the World Race. I have been taken the time to read through the different gospels of the different accounts of Holy Week. The Thursday morning had started out with the Lord, followed by day of rest due to rain, and at 5pm we headed to the house of prayer. I walked into the building and down the middle of the room were tables set up to form one big table. We all took our seats at the table, started with prayer and worship. It was then time to observe the Lord’s supper and this setting reminded me of what the Lord’s last Supper would have looked like with His disciples. His 12 followers who had become brothers in Christ to Him surrounded Jesus.

As we took time to read scripture of what the bread and wine represented, it was such a sweet time of reflection to me. To really take time to thank Jesus for how He has redeemed my life and what freedom I find in Him. After taking time to partake in the consuming of the bread and wine, it was time to send up our thanks to Jesus through our prayers. Everyone around me began praying in Russian and I had no idea what was being said. But I could hear their gratitude in their voices and emotions as they thanked sweet Jesus.

The spirit started moving in me so I took time to pray after a few around me finished praying and immediately I was so overwhelmed with God’s goodness. First of all the love He has for me His daughter and how He could send His only son to have His life ended with crucifixion on the cross. There were many emotions involved and many tears of great joy. I came before God’s throne with a heart of thanksgiving for all He has given me: His perfect love, freedom from sin and condemnation, a heart to serve Him in the nations, and the opportunity of the World Race to have my life turned upside down for the sake of the kingdom. The heart He has given me is for missions, to serve Him wherever He takes me, and whatever He desires for me to do.

This Easter week/weekend is wrapping up for me in Moldova, I have learned so much this Holy Week and God continues to be faithful in revealing Himself to me.   As I continue to study scripture and learn more about God things continue to click in my mind.   This Thursday started out as an ordinary day but ended by God revealing more of His unconditional, unfading, everlasting, and perfect love for me. I pray this Easter weekend has been full of fruit in your life from spending time with family and friends to attending church services. I am so grateful for each of you and know that without everyone of you this journey wouldn’t have been possible. The prayers, encouragement, and support have played a part in the transformation of my life. I look forward to seeing you when I get home and sharing my heart about what God did these 11 months through/in me.

I ask for prayers to finish this next month in a half strong and to take advantage of every opportunity the Lord puts before me. May my time at home this summer be fruitful, full of family, friends, laughter, and making memories with my community in NC. For God to continue opening doors for my return to Nepal in August for a 10-month internship with the Gethsemane House of Prayer. Contact me anytime with prayer requests, life updates, or if you are interested in supporting my return to Nepal at [email protected].
