Evidently training camp is a big secret and I will not know the happenings till I arrive. I have the privilege of riding down with my new friend Zach Miller, he is launching with me but on a different squad. We will be leaving Saturday morning to check in by 4pm to begin the week of training. I didn’t want to be that girl at training camp who can’t pitch her tent, so with my dad’s help I pitched it yesterday and sprayed it down with the hose, to ensure that it didn’t leak. I am using the tent from my dear friend Madisson Wisher, a World Race Alumni. It was really easy to put up. And in a matter of 10 minutes I had my new home pitched and ready to live in! I wasn’t sure about the size of the tent but after we got it pitched, there will be plenty of room for my pack and me. There is a porch like on the front of the tent, in case of rain I guess. After pitching the tent, went to Target to do final shopping for training camp and got almost all of my needs for the year. I only have a few more things to get before launching in July.

Home Sweet Home for the year
I’m not really sure how to prepare myself for what I am about to experience. I asked my friend Lindsay Dobner, who is a World Race alumnus, what I could do to get ready for training camp and then launch. The only advice she gave me was to spend some sweet time with Jesus in prayer, quiet time, and mediation. I have been spending sometime in prayer but plan to really spend time with The Lord Thursday and Friday before heading to camp. There is no way to truly prepare for camp or what I will experience on the field but have no expectations and see how The Lord will work. I know that The Lord has a great plan and will do His Will for all that is to happen the next year.
This past week has been very busy and some great times with good friends. Wednesday I had a message from my dad when I got off work saying that my paw paw had been taken to the hospital and been admitted. He went to the doctor to have a check up, after having fallen a few weeks ago. The doctor found a blood clot by his liver and a mass on his liver. So I went to visit him in the ER Wednesday night and knew he wasn’t feeling well. He got into a room Thursday and I went back Friday night to visit with him. He had been taken out for a PET Scan, to examine the mass and see what it was. Test results came back on Saturday and it is cancerous but we don’t know any more details yet. They are going to handle the blood clot first and then go in to see about the liver. Through all this, I would normally have been worried and stressed out about this situation. But the Lord has a great plan and my paw paw has lived a great life of 87 years. No matter the outcome I know I will see him one day, when we get to heaven. He knows the Lord as His Savior and going to be with Him one day. So no matter the outcome of these medical obstacles, he is in the Lord’s hands.
