It is hard to believe that the day to leave the USA for 11 months has finally arrived. After a few days of training at launch, the day has finally arrived to get on a jet plane and head to Thailand. We have a 1:45pm flight Sunday July 7, 2013, from Atlanta International Airport to head to Tokyo, Japan for a 12-hour flight. Once in Tokyo we will have a 2-hour flight and get on a 6-hour flight to Bangkok, Thailand. We will have arrived but then we have to take a 12-hour bus ride to Chiang Mai, which is where we will spend our month of ministry. We should arrive in Thailand about 12pm on Tuesday, just in time for lunch:)

This first month Q Squad will be spending the month together as a squad. I will be living the first month of community with my entire squad and give me an opportunity to bond with squad mates who are not on my team. At this point, I am not sure what I will be doing for the month but should find out in a matter of time. I am praying now that The Lord provides patience and contentment in every moment of not knowing what is next.
My time at launch has been full of training, team time, eating on $5 a day (which is possible in the US) but with some assistance from my wallet I was able to be sustained, sweet time in The Lord, learning to walk in freedom in the Spirit, and preparing myself as best I can for what is about to happen. The time has come and all final prep has been made… I am officially on The World Race and going to the nations to proclaim the name of Jesus. It has been surreal and slowing beginning to hit me. From the point when I checked into this sweet hotel on Wednesday, I have had so many emotions and thoughts of what the next year holds. After much prayer and continual prayer I have decided I don’t need to know every detail and that is ok.
Speaking of a sweet hotel, we have stayed in the Holiday Inn in Atlanta. This hotel is like much others you have stayed in: FREE internet, AC, nice beds, hot showers, continual electricity, food when I want it, and basically all the things the next 11 months won’t have. We stayed in the same room each night and there were no crazy surprises during the week like at training camp. Please be praying for Q, R, S, and T squads as we all travel to the nations today to begin this journey. We need prayers for safe travels, our bags to arrive to each destination, to walk in freedom in the Spirit these 11 months, freedom from fears and brokenness, team/squad unity, and to be ready when the enemy gets any foot holes.
