Do you know how many gospels there are there? This was the question asked by Mr. Moses Onwubiko, president and founder of Grace Evangelistic Ministries, at a conference at Hope Church Romania on Spiritual Warfare. Moses was challenging, and encouraging us to allow this to be a time for us to learn from one another. The topic was spiritual warfare and what we as Christians are equipped with to fight it. It is a battle we fight daily to do God’s Will in our lives and when forces that are demonic come against us.

My brother in Christ Moses’ and myself
Coming on the World Race I had heard of spiritual warfare but I had never personally experienced it in my life. While I have been serving the Lord for these 9 months, I have experienced and seen much warfare. The most real story to me was when I was in Cambodia and my teammates were plagued with sickness when God really started stirring in our ministry. The Lord was providing finances, moving in the village we were working in, and breaking down barriers in our team. Two of our teammates were both sick and my team leader thought it was spiritual, so he approached our contact about it. We all gathered and she told us about how this room in the house is affected by a spirit. This spirit was there from the beginning of the ministry and every person that stays in the room gets the same kind of sickness. After discussing what was happening in this home and to our team, we prayed this spirit out.
Immediately the house was quieted and both teammates began to feel better. This was my first encounter with a spirit but with the power of God and His Word we were able to pray it out in His name. I began investigating scripture and learning what I could about spiritual warfare; it wasn’t until this conference in Romania that I truly learned all I need to fight back is God’s Word.
If you answered that there are four gospels in the Bible… you are right; but our lives are the fifth gospel and how we chose to live our daily lives. Everyday all those around us are reading us by how we interact with others, our word chose, and the ways that we chose to reflect ourselves to the world. Does your life bring or push others to/from Christ? I know that my life does both but I pray for God to continue to take away parts of my life that don’t reflect Him. How I live my life reflects who I am in Christ, although I am not perfect, I am washed white as snow by the blood of Jesus Christ. I challenge you to fight spiritual warfare with God’s Word and to pray daily for the Lord to cover you in His Armor.
I leave you by telling you that spiritual warfare is a very real thing all around the world. I know that I give the enemy way more credit than he is deserved and need to point everything to Christ. It is though Christ that I am made new and how I have the strength I need daily to fight the good fight of faith.
As always, thanks for the continued support while I am on the field. God continues to mold me daily and I know He has wonderful plans for the next 2.5 months on the World Race. Please be praying for my reentry back to America on May 30th, as I will be leaving the World Race community that I have lived in for the 11 months. See you all in June and excited to share all about life these 11 months serving the Lord in 11 countries!
