I have officially started month 9 on the World Race and made my way to Europe for the last 3 months of the Race. The Lord faithfully brought my squad to Romania, where I will be spending the whole month with my entire squad. This first week is parent vision trip where parents come out to the field to spend 1 week with their children to get a taste of daily life on the Race. My parents didn’t come but nearly half of my squad has one or both parents here through Sunday. During this time teams are split up, ministry and schedules are a bit crazy. Half of my team is with parents and the other half of us has started our ministry for the month. As a squad we are working with Hope Church here in Olt, which is a southern region of Romania. This region is known as the “graveyard for pastors and missionaries” because the community isn’t open to any kind of Christianity. This is due to witchcraft and what they have experienced in the past with religious influence.
In 2003 the head pastor Raul Costea and his family moved to this region to start a church with a direct vision from God. The beginning was very hard for himself and his family; the police/government would follow them around looking for ways to get them in trouble. After much prayer, intercession, and God’s faithfulness he was able to build Hope Church and begin his ministry here in Draganesti. Upon getting the church built and under way, now there are 12 families who serve alongside Raul in this region in various capacities. More information is coming soon on what each of these different ministries involve and how they operate.
I am so excited to see what God has in store for me this month and how He is going to use me for the betterment of His kingdom here in Romania. My prayers are that these last 3 months be the best of the race and to see God show up in bigger ways than I have ever experienced Him before. After my month in Nepal, I saw many people healed and come to know Jesus as their savior. But I know this is only the beginning of what God has for me and He has opened my eyes to His wondrous works.
