Hello!!  My name is Michelle Leigh McPherson and I am from North Carolina.  I grew up in Midland, NC (just east of Charlotte), and currently live in Matthews, NC (right outside of the Big City of Charlotte).  I am 24 years old and ready to see God’s people and His Kingdom here on earth on The World Race.

My testimony:

At the age of 8, I came to know the Lord but didn’t understand the relational part of that.  I grew up going to Fort Caswell, a youth camp at Oak Island, NC, with my group from middle school on into high school.  It was here at Fort Caswell that I began to understand what a relationship with Jesus Christ looked like and the importance of it in my life.  I graduated high school from Central Cabarrus High School in Concord, NC.  I went on to Central Piedmont Community College, where I began to acquire an Associate in Arts degree to transfer to University of North Carolina at Greensboro to become a Dietician.  After my first year of college, I went to work at Fort Caswell on Summer Staff 2008, where the Lord began to reveal even more of Himself to me and show me His plan for my life.  That summer He called me to Culinary School to become a Chef.  I wasn’t sure what that looked like or the details but returned home after summer to change my career path at college.  I returned for 2 more summer to work at Caswell for Summer Staff 2009 and 2010.  Each summer the Lord molded me, pruned me, broke me and built me up and turned me into the Child of God I am today!  Caswell has become such an important part of my life, molded me to who I am in Christ, and showed me the true meaning of Serving Him.  The fall of 2011 I graduated from Culinary School with a degree in Culinary Arts.  I began to fight against the American Dream and falling into that lifestyle.  November 2011, my parents separated and the Lord showed me that He is my Heavenly Father and His role in my life even more.  March 2012, I went on my first missions trip to Nicaragua, and the Lord again affirmed that I was to spent my time in America and that to be my mission field, or so I through.  November 2012, the Lord called me to The World Race and I began this Journey in the next big adventure of my life!  I am excited about this next season and all the Lord has planned.

The inspiration for the theme of this blog, LEGIT!!  I don’t think she even knows, but the Summer of 2010 at Caswell on Summer Staff we worked together.  She is where I first heard the word LEGIT.

A couple that loves the Lord and are the leaders of my Singles Ministry.  They are a true example of what a Godly marriage is to be and give me hope for what the Lord may or may not have in store for me one day.
Todd is the inspiration for the “Too legit to quit”!!!  You can get him for me singing it over and over again.
