As I have my last couple of days in Thailand, it is hard to believe that month 1 of the race is almost finished. But what a great month it has been from ministry, team time, days off, times in markets, Thai massage, to delicious Thai food: it has been an incredible month. Monday is our last day of ministry and Tuesday is an ATL (Ask the Lord) day and Wednesday will be spent cleaning, packing, and moving Q squad to Cambodia. The official plan, as of right now, is to leave Chiang Mai Wednesday night at 9:30pm for a 13-15 hour bus ride, to arrive to the border and spend 3 days there for orientation for month 2 of ministry. Details to come on what I will be doing for ministry next month, when I have more info.

A little dirt never hurt anyone… after a full day of playing frisbee in the slums=dirty hands for CHRIST!!
Monday was an incredible day, some awesome team time in the am and some AWESOME feedback. If you don’t know but feedback is a time to constructively direction and also to encourage one another in love and truth. From this you are to say thank you and take it to the Lord, this personally is something I am so pumped to experience the next year on the race. This is a time when others see greatness in you and call you into this. I ask for prayers to continue receiving this well and giving it in love and truth. Had spaghetti for lunch from Zion and it was so yum, as every meal is here. A few girls from my team were on our way out the door and that is when a 13-year-old girl named Orange was brought into our lives.
We had just left the café and Orange had stopped Laura with the motion of needing food. So we invited her in and offer her lunch, hesitatingly she entered and sat with us. As she was walking in, you could tell her body was very weak and not working well. She also was coughing and came to learn that she has terrible asthma, due to a near drowning accident about 5 years ago. Our incredible contact Emmi began to speak to her in Thai and listen to her story. She was traveling back from her sister’s funeral and still had a few hours ahead of her. On her way to her grandparents but had ran out of money. We ended up getting her lunch, I gave her taxi money to get home, and the girls that work the café sent her away with a bag of clothes. She was so grateful and I don’t think she understood why we would do this. Emmi told her we pray to Jesus and that is why we were showing her this love. I ask you be praying for Orange: physically to be healed from asthma, and the Spirit of Christ to overwhelm her soul. This was only a 20 minute interaction but amazing how the Lord put this girl into our path to minister to her.
Jesus put this young girl into our path today and offered this divine appointment. We were going to get away to have quiet time and really process from our morning team time and the Lord had much different plans for us. What sweet plans He had and ALWAYS has for us. At first, I had told Laura to keep walking but I am so grateful that she didn’t, instead invited her in for lunch. About 12 of my squad mates and I had the opportunity to pray over her for healing. I believe it is to come and she will have more power in her lungs than ever before. I don’t have a physical picture of her but her fragile body will always be engraved in my memory. GOD IS SO GOOD!! He continues to rock my world daily rather through the kids this month, team time, or random individuals I meet on the streets.
Prayers please:
- Time left in Thailand
- Q squad
- Safe travels to Cambodia
- For me to take this 1 day at a time
- Make personal goals for each country
- Rounding out my boldness to better mold Christ
- My image to be more Christ like and less Michelle!
