Three weeks without internet has probably been the LONGEST amount of time I’ve ever been “offline.” But … alas, here I am … back in the realm of communication. At least for today 🙂
We just left Morrumbala, Mozambique and have arrived back in Dondo, Mozambique. We will be here through tomorrow and then we head to Swaziland for debrief. At (almost) our halfway point, the Swazi debrief will hopefully be a time of refreshment and encouragement … AND a time to meet up with the June World Racers! wahoooo! After that, we will be in Botswana, Africa and then back in South Africa ….. this is the long term plan — who knows what will happen between now and then!!!

Our time in Mozambique has been quite amazing. In Morrumbala we stayed at a World Vision center and for 2 weeks were mainly focused on 2 different ministries. The first was food distributions to the recent flood victims. Almost every day we headed out to the nearby refugee camps to distribute food and have a short outreach for the people. It was a powerful experience and the Lord showed up in BIG ways. The second (and my favorite) was the orphanage ministry. We mainly and simply got to play with kids all day long! There were over 50 orphans living there plus the other numerous village kids that always seemed to mingle in every day. I can’t wait until I am able to share pictures! Overall, Africa is a beautiful continent and I am excited that I have 2 more months here!

I know that is a SUPER basic update, but i wanted to make sure to let everyone know that I am alive and well and that things are trucking right along! Hopefully I will be able to REALLY post when I have my computer back and actual significant (and reliable) internet time! Please PLEASE check out other blogs for more stories of Mozambique! The Lord is moving in BIG ways here and it’s crazy to think that we can be a part of it.
I am thankful for each and every one of you …. for your prayers especially during this time and for all the love i feel from so far away!!! I am truly blessed.
Blessings to each of you and hopefully you’ll be hearing from me again shortly (hopefully … ha!). love love love.
Michelle
