so … a little bit about myself.
My name is Michelle McBeath.
I grew up in Springfield, Missouri and lived there my whole life before moving to Oklahoma Baptist University for school.
I have one older sister who lives with her husband in Texas and two wonderful parents who still live in Missouri.
My family is absolutely amazing and has been so supportive of me and of everything I do. I love smoothies, good conversation, to listen to music, and dance parties : )
While at OBU, I was active in Student Government, Campus Activities Board, and Pine Cove Christian Camps during the summer.
In addition, I had the privilege of meeting some of the best friends I have ever known during my four years there at OBU.
They have shown me what true friendship and love looks like and have become like a second family to me.
Even though many of us have parted since May, I am excited to see how the Lord is going to guide us from here and bless each of us in unique ways.
I ended up graduating from OBU with a major in Religion and minor in Psychology.
Everyone always asked what I would end up doing with those two after graduation … and I always never really knew.
Plans for the future, in my mind, meant plans for next week or maybe the week after that.
It was always hard to picture what the so-called “rest of my life” would look like.
It’s a day by day journey for me and I believe the Lord has blessed me and provided me with this next leg in my journey.
I have a heart to see the world, to experience culture, to understand and participate in the Lord’s work around the world, and to
love those I encounter along my way.
I honestly believe that I was made for something like the World Race and that the World Race was made for someone like me.
I’m not very sure how the random door to this program was opened for me, but I do know that I have seen the Lord’s hand in the process from the very beginning.
Initially just intrigued by one of Seth’s e-mails, I looked into AIM further and more particularly in the World Race.
After a couple of months of stalling, I finally realized that this was actually something I might be interested in doing.
I figured I might as well apply, and then go from there to see what would happen.
I prayed that the Lord would make the decision abundantly clear.
The day before graduation I received the call and the rest is history.
I know of course that this is merely one more step for me, but I am interested to see where the Lord will lead me and how my life might be impacted because of this trip.
All of life is an adventure … but personally, I am excited for the opportunity to participate in
THIS adventure.
To live simply, to love genuinely, to help and to be the hands of Christ … to
create change and to
be changed.
To share joy and hope and peace with the world.
.much love.
