Hello friends!
Most of you know me already, but maybe you stumbled across my blog somehow. So let me introduce myself. My name is Michelle. I’m originally from Michigan, but I call Indiana my home.
I found about the World Race, in December of 2014, from a camper I had when I was a summer camp counselor 6 years ago. She ended up going on the Race when she graduated college. I followed her on different social media sites and kept on seeing pictures and posts about these really awesome adventures but I didn’t know what she was doing at the time. So I did a little bit of research and found out she was doing the World Race. I looked up the World Race for myself and immediately thought, “Man, I wish I would have done something like this when I graduated college.” Not that what I did after college wasn’t valuable. But I thought I had missed out on an opportunity of a lifetime. A few more days passed and I couldn’t stop thinking about the World Race. Then it dawned on me. “Why not do the race now?”. I mean, I had a decent job working at Dick’s Sporting Goods, but it wasn’t something I necessarily wanted to do for the rest of my life. So I took a few months to pray about it and God seemed to burden my heart all the more to go. So I applied when the routes came out and here I am, about to embark on this new adventure come January 7th.
I’m not really sure what to expect going on the World Race. But a verse that has most definitely stuck with me throughout the whole time is Habakkuk 1:5, which says,
“Look at the nations and watch—
and be utterly amazed.
For I am going to do something in your days
that you would not believe,
even if you were told.”
So that is why I’m going on the Race. To see God do incredible things and be amazed. To see what He is already doing and be a part of it. To get God out of these boxes that I have put Him in over time.
If you have any questions or would like to know more about me, feel free to send me a message or contact me through my site. I hope you’ll join me on this journey and see what God is doing around the world.
