As evidenced by 2nd Timothy Chapter 3 verses 1-5, we are in the last days. It is our duty as Christians to go out, evangelize and spread the Gospel. In fact, in Matthew 28:19 we are told that we are to “go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.” If we are truly honest with ourselves, we all know that within our lives, we have been tested, turned our tests into testimonies and need to use those trials and tribulations God has allowed us to endure to help others get through their pains and sufferings. In some cases, we are the only Bible some people will ever read. Like my church says, we need to continue to Believe, Imagine and Grow. I am excited to share that I am going super BIG for God!
God has given me the unique opportunity to be accepted into this World Race! I am slightly nervous but excited at the same time to be traveling to 11 countries in 11 months to spread the Gospel! The 11 countries I will be tentatively traveling to and living in are China, South Korea, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Uganda, Rwanda and Kenya.
I was asked to co-teach Bible study to the teenagers of my church late last year. While preparing for lessons, I felt like I needed to stay in The Word because these teenagers needed me and I wanted to have the answers to their biblical questions. Little did I know that was just the beginning of what God had in store for ME! In order to stay in The Word, I started going to my church's Adult Bible Study more. One of the first Bible studies I went to, God allowed one of the ministers- Rev. Marshall- to speak to me. She said we all have a divine assignment. My heart knew exactly what that meant. As God would have it, I found the World Race not too much longer after that through YouTube. I was searching for Christian Spoken Word Poems to show the teenagers during our Bible Study classes. While searching for assignments for them, I found my divine assignment. There was a guy performing Spoken Word about the World Race. So, I looked into it, applied, interviewed and got accepted!
I can't wait to help develop partnerships with ministries in communities to teach the Gospel, plant churches, work in orphanages, minister to women and children who are trapped in prostitution as a result of human sex trafficking, and bring the restoration and hope of God’s love to many tribes and nations. I am so grateful for this opportunity that God has given me and have confidence that He will provide for my needs!
I must raise $15,500 in order to go on the World Race, which will cover all of my expenses on the field for the entire 11 months. This financial support can be given as a one-time gift or as a monthly donation, wherein you choose the amount beginning and end date (Adventures In Missions is a 501 © (3) organization and all of your donations will be tax deductible!). It is my prayer that I will become fully funded before my launch date so I will not have to worry about funding and can focus on my ministry while on the field.
The Bible teaches us to fully trust God, as He is our Jehovah Jireh- our provider. I know He will provide for me but I must ensure I do the legwork that is needed to fulfill His promises. If 155 people donate $100.00 toward my trip over the next six months, I will be fully funded! If you think about it, $15,500 is not a great deal of money to live off of for one year. We will not be living a life of luxury; we will be living a life of abandonment- living out of one backpack the entire time. The Bible tells us to “Let our light shine before men that they may see our good works and glorify our father which is in heaven (Matthew 5:16). Please help me on this journey to letting my light shine as I develop relationships with my brother and sisters all over the world and prayerfully bring them closer to Christ. I feel this journey will further prepare me to continue to lead the community I serve in Philadelphia in new and unique ways as well.
