The Lord is my shepherd, I
shall not be in want.
He makes me lie down in
green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet
waters,
he restores my soul.
He guides me in paths of
righteousness
for his name sake.
This past weekend Super Gloria was blessed to spend the weekend at Bea's family's home in El Salvador. It was a haven of rest. I personally spent the majority of my time lying in a hammock, reading and taking photos.
To be honest, most of us girls had it in our minds that it would also mean we would be fasting all weekend. You see we live off a very low income. This month 5 quetzals for food per day. Let me translate that better. 5 quetzals is equivilant to .66 cents in Canadian dollars. Which looking at that now, I am thinking how the heck we are eating! Only Jesus knows.
So the plan was to not eat all weekend and or keep it minimal. However, once again I am proven that my plans are not God's plans. Instead He decided to WOW and POW us girls, by blessing us abundantly through Bea's aunts, uncles and cousins. They had cooked for us throughout the whole weekend with some of the most delicious foods!
They then took us on a boat tour of the lake and we spent some time on a small island with them.
Oh, did I mention Bea's aunt and uncle drove 7.5 hours to pick us up and drive back. That's 15 hours of driving per trip! Such a blessing.
They showed us the love of God and allowed us to rest, served us so incredibly well and simply provided what we needed for the weekend.
Such a blessing!
