Woo…..after a 14 hour flight to Seoul and another 4 to Manila I finally made it! The past few weeks have seemed overwhelming and trying and I am just thankful that God has been my strength and that my family has let me cry when I needed to cry. A true blessing was that when I flew from Toronto to Seoul I was sitting beside a super sweet Philippino woman who I was able to talk with and she shared about her life with me, and she would wake me for food and was simply adorable. Then wouldn't you know it, we sat in the exact same seats and again I was blessed to sit beside her again from Seoul to Manila, Philippines. It was just awesome.
So after a few days of catch up on many things including rest and finally being jet legged no more. (hip hip). I have started my first day in ministry. This morning myself and Bea travelled to the Jazz home to work with beautiful girls who have to say the least have not had the ideal start at life. Most brought from a life of being sexually abused. Bea and I were just able to get to know who they were. Although Bea has been working with them for the past week. These girls are just wonderful and excited about life and to hear their aspirations was just amazing. They asked us questions about who we were and we were able to share in that. Then we were able to just talk to them about God and who he is in their lives.
Also….
Can I just also mention how amazing the people are that I am surrounded by! You should all know my team "feugo de dios". There is Nick the team leader, and who also possesses pretty much the strongest leadership skills I have seen. Simply amazing. There is David who in his quiet posture is certainly a protector and chivalriss….(not even sure if that's a real word..I doubt it) then there are the ladies I am blessed to be surrounded by daily. Goodness I don't even know where to start with them. They are all just amazing, wonderful women of God. Each so unique and truly I can learn from each of them. Amanda is histerical and such a child in the most wonderful way possible! It's so amazing and truly the joy radiates out of her. Marian is just so passionate and contains a spirit or constant encouragement and always great to be around. Both of which I can certainly learn to be louder with. Bea is sweet like honey, but has a great boldness and courage in her. Our partner team is pretty amazing as well, and I will tell you all about them more in detail later!
