Training Camp begins in 2 days. Woah!
I’m SO excited!
I’m anxious.
I’m nervous.
I’ve been told it’s an exciting yet very challenging week….
but I have NO clue what to expect.
Before I go any further, I must confess that I feel convicted for not having posted for quite some time. I don’t think it’s fair to leave y’all in the dark in regards to what’s going on in my life and how preparation for the World Race is going. I still think this whole blogging thing about my thoughts, experiences, and life in general is going to take some getting used to. Bear with me. 🙂
Second, I cannot say thank you enough to all who have supported me on this journey thus far. Your love, prayers, and financial support truly do mean the world to me. God blows me away each time someone makes a donation or purchases a bracelet or unexpectedly shows deep interest in the World Race. Why do I limit our all-powerful God so much?!
Back to training camp…
I believe we will be “roughing it” the entire week we’re there. That means sleeping outside under the stars (oh yeah!), possibly squatting to umm…ya know…(could get interesting), and going a couple of days without a shower (haha, oh dear). Now, I would not classify myself as the non-outdoors-type-of-girl. I love the outdoors! However, I’m not exactly quick to say, “let’s go rub some dirt in it!” Thus, this coming week should be quite the experience! 😀
We’ll also get to use a lot of our gear for the first time, which reminds me…I should take pictures of some of the things I’ve purchased over the past few weeks. Some of these things I never knew existed!
The drive down to Training Camp (it’s near Atlanta, GA, btw) and back should be quite the experience, too! I’ll be riding down with an Iowian, Sam Walter, and a fellow Illinoian, Jesse Morris. I have yet to meet these awesome guys in person, but I have a feeling it’ll be one sweet road trip!
This is what I’m asking for you to do: pray. This week will be challenging spiritually, mentally, and I’m sure physically. I appreciate your prayers SO much. And, just so you know, I appreciate you. I appreciate you joining me on this journey and for reading my blogs so far. Your encouragement lifts me up!
Until I post next time, which will be some time soon, peace and blessings!
