The Short Story Behind My Fundraising:
This amazing adventure quest began in January 2014 when I set out with my Ape Case Backpack on. On the World Race, my team and I have and will continue to serve in partnership with local churches and ministries to preach the Gospel, plant churches, work in orphanages, aid in micro-enterprise businesses, provide finance and accounting related consultation, feed the homeless, minister to women and children who are trapped in prostitution as a result of human trafficking, and bring the restoration and hope of the Father’s love to many tribes and nations.
Part of this journey is raising the funds to be able to go. I need people like YOU to help keep me here in 2014. Fundraising is my biggest fear in regards to being on The World Race. I’ve been faithfully enjoying being the “income giver” in the support raising equation, so to be back on the other side?… Yikes.
Living without western luxuries, in Malaria zones, eating unfamiliar food, being robbed, having no income, encountering bugs and snakes, or having very little communication with family and friends is ‘easy.’ Raising support to live that out in order to help the world in tangible ways? Daunting.
I am excited to share a fundraiser that is an easy way for you to partner with me across the globe. I introduce…the Fun[d] Board (ABOVE). By taking squares off this board, you can help keep me in the field, furthering the vision of each mission I work with this year. The board is set up with the total number of squares I need to be fully funded. I will continue to update here which squares are marked off as more pledges come in.
ALSO, If you want to Pray for me, I will always welcome prayers for safety and health for me and my ‘family here’ as well as at home (my brother and sister in law had their first baby in August!!). I also ask that you pray I continue to find ways to put this Accounting to use for all the various ministries I’m encountering (going awesomely so far). Some other items: the post-race assignment from God, should I choose to accept it (whatever it is… I.J.M? FBI? Bakery/non-profit? Back into Accounting firm life? Back out into the mission field?); getting the most from His Word this year/finding that extra time for study; being poured into/discipled; grace and mercy when living in community… and I’m sure a slew of other things as I’m in each country.
