I woke up in my tent to “Oh. Happy Day…You Washed my Sins Away” blaring when it began to rain and the beautiful realization hit that yes my sins are washed away… I am in New Zealand and this is my life.

I have been in NZ for 20 days now.  I feel like I have been here for months.  I feel at home; I find rest here.  People here are so welcoming, loving and the  presence of God is very apparent.  I have been able to spend some time with some pretty amazing people (separate blog to come!)

This is our second-ish week here at Waikanae working at El Rancho. Last week’s ministry was to minister to youth as cabin leaders (check out Jonathan, Kendall or Danny‘s stories about their kids… AWESOME!) and as for me… I was a bit crippled. God is teaching me humility .There’s just been a lot of joy I have experienced while being here and because of the injury also..how could you not laugh in this situation??? Check out Hot Wheels…

This week El Rancho is hosting a huge Christian conference called New Wine.  Some of us are split up into cleaning toilets, helping with the kitchen and then an extreme marketing makeover for El Rancho.

Last week the activity instructors (Ricki, Hope, Emily and Me) were having a chat with Rob Namba (El Rancho Director Extraordinaire/ Head Honcho/ Captain Awesome) about our majors and what not and he wanted us to rebrand El Rancho this week. Ricki and Emily have been working extremely hard to redesign the logos and brochures for their upcoming Easter convention, El Rancho and the cafe here. Hope has been using her business admin degree to get the best prices around and shop for the best printer and making some videos of camp. Jesse has been helping with wording for brochures and she had the brilliant idea of the new tagline for the camp. I have been doing wording for the brochures and the event web site and some other videos for El Rancho. Who would have thought that my journalism degree would come in handy this year? I am so blessed to serve Rob and El Rancho in this way.
 
 

I am blessed. Everyday I have to remind myself that I am in New Zealand and right when I feel that I might be getting used to that idea.. We move forward to Australia.

I am excited to announce that for Australia my team,  Wrecked 52:7 and 3 other N teams will be at Byron Bay (Google it… its beautiful!) doing beach ministry. I am so so so so so excited! A bit nervous, not gonna lie.. But please pray that the teams keep on pressing into God and that we reach those who we are supposed to be ministered to, for a bold faith and for insecurities to be removed. (another blog to come)

I wrote in my journal the other day… “For the sadness, emptiness and lonliness  that I endured for the past year and a half.. It’s been worth it for the joy, love, happiness and growth I have had in the past 2 weeks. If I were to go home now, it would be worth it already.  I can’t wait to rock it out for my King.”
